I am a clinical Interventional Radiologist and Vice Chair of Research at a large academic institution. I perform a range of image-guided procedures for treatment of a variety of diseases. I am a part of a group in a level I trauma center that provides service 24 hours per a day and 7 days a week throughout the calendar year for both inpatients and outpatients. I routinely see patients in clinic to evaluate their illness, to discuss treatment options, and to follow-up after therapy. I have admitting privileges for monitoring my post-procedural patients and also routinely oversee the Interventional Radiology consult service. I also perform interpretations of non-invasive cardiovascular imaging studies. Additionally, I participate in and help administer weekly multi-disciplinary hepatic tumor board and vascular conferences. My clinical group is a key member of a number of facets of clinical care in a robust academic medical setting.

Dr. Michael Amendola is a practicing vascular surgeon at the Central Virginia VA Health Care System (CVVHS) in Richmond, Virginia. He serves as the Division Chief of Vascular Surgery and the Head of The Vascular Duplex Laboratory. Dr. Amendola earned his undergraduate and graduate degrees in Chemistry from The College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia. He then worked as a Research Associate for Merck and Company in Rahway, New Jersey, utilizing computer-aided rational drug design. Following this, he conducted funded research in the Department of Genetics at Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine (VCU-SOM) in Richmond, Virginia.
