I am a fellowship-trained, board certified physician in diagnostic radiology and interventional radiology with over 9 years of practice. I practice in an academic setting at the Ohio State University Medical Center in which I teach other physicians the techniques, rationale and standards of care in both diagnostic and interventional radiology. I work on the national level in the Society of Interventional Radiology (SIR) and the American College of Radiology (ACR). In those settings I work on quality initiatives and data analytics. My experience as a consultant and expert witness began in 2020. Since then I have and continue to opine on the standards of care, evaluate cases for merit, perform blind reviews, provide second opinions, depose and give in court testimony on diagnostic radiology cases and/or interventional cases for both the plaintiff and defense. Dr. Michael Amendola is a practicing vascular surgeon at the Central Virginia VA Health Care System in Richmond Virginia. He serves as the Division Chief of Vascular Surgery and the Clinical Director of The Vascular Duplex Laboratory. He graduated from the College of William and Mary with a Bachelor of Science as well as a Master’s of Chemistry in 1995. In 2002, Dr. Amendola received his medical degree from Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine. Dr. Amendola completed his general surgery residency at Virginia Commonwealth University Health System in 2007 and his Vascular Surgery fellowship at the same facility in 2009. He is board certified in vascular and general surgery by the American Board of Surgery. He was selected in 2024 to be an American Board of Surgery certifying examinator in vascular surgery.
