Jon Davidson, MD, FSIR, is a board-certified Interventional Radiologist and Diagnostic Radiologist with over 25 years of clinical experience in academic medicine and more than 12 years of experience serving as an expert witness and consultant in medical malpractice and personal injury litigation. He has reviewed hundreds of cases for both plaintiffs and defendants involving interventional radiology, diagnostic radiology, vascular procedures, image-guided interventions, patient safety, informed consent, and standard-of-care issues. Dr. Davidson is an Associate Professor of Radiology at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine and practices at University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center. He previously served as Division Chief of Interventional Radiology and Program Director of the Interventional Radiology Residency/Fellowship, where he trained numerous residents and fellows while overseeing a high-volume tertiary referral practice. He currently serves as President of the Association of Chiefs of Interventional Radiology (ACIR) and is an Oral Board Examiner for the American Board of Radiology (ABR) in Interventional Radiology. He also serves on multiple national ABR committees involved in examination development and maintenance of certification. Dr. Davidson has extensive experience with complex image-guided procedures including vascular interventions, embolization, interventional oncology, hepatobiliary interventions, dialysis access, venous access, biopsies, tumor ablation, vertebral augmentation, portal hypertension procedures, thromboembolic interventions, and emergency interventional radiology. Throughout his career, he has performed many thousands of minimally invasive procedures. A nationally recognized educator and lecturer, Dr. Davidson has authored peer-reviewed publications, presented at national and international scientific meetings, and served on national guideline committees for the Society of Interventional Radiology. He is frequently invited to lecture on interventional radiology techniques, quality improvement, leadership, and medicolegal issues in radiology. As an expert witness, Dr. Davidson provides comprehensive case review, standard-of-care analysis, causation opinions, affidavit preparation, deposition testimony, and trial testimony. His opinions are based on current evidence, national practice standards, extensive procedural experience, and decades of leadership in academic interventional radiology. He is known for providing thorough, objective, well-supported opinions and for clearly explaining complex medical issues to attorneys, judges, and juries.
