I have provided expert witness services in 14 states, with many cases still active. A strength of my methodology is the case review, informed by my interest in analytic writing and clear communication. I undertake the perspective of the treating physician to try to understand their actions at various inflection points. The review looks at office visits, operative reports, imaging studies, patient narratives, and timelines before, during, and after the events in question. What is not documented can be as important as what is explicitly stated. Alternative explanations are considered when the initial causation theory is not supported by the facts,. A fresh set of eyes sometimes can offer new insights. This forensic approach forms the basis for my opinions regarding standard of care, causation, and damages. (See Article 1.)
