Dr. Carolyn Carman is a board certified/diplomate (ABO), residency-certified, licensed, practicing Therapeutic Optometrist and Glaucoma Specialist in Texas and former University of Houston Clinical Professor and Clinic Director. She has over 30 years of experience in comprehensive eye care for all ages and specializes in visual impairment due to ocular disease, ocular injury, or brain injury. She has been involved in expert witness testimony for over 20 years and serves both plaintiff and defense counsel. She is available to assist with records review, detailed reports, deposition and trial testimony, case preparation and question development, comprehensive vision evaluations, IMEs, and mobile exams. Dr. Carman is the former Chair of the Texas Optometry Board after receiving 2 Texas Governor appointments. She has served as Chair of multiple national committees including the American Optometric Association Neuro-Optometric Committee (Chair) and the Ethic and Values Committee, was awarded the Texas Rehabilitation Association Physician of the Year, the Texas Optometric Association Young Optometrist of the Year as well as the Molly Armstrong Leadership Awards. She currently serves on the State of Texas Medical Advisory Board and is an active member of the American Optometric Association and a Fellow in the American Academy of Optometry. Dr. Carman has lectured extensively nationally and internationally and is a recognized leader in the field of optometry, visual loss, and brain injury.
