Dr. Little has been practicing medicine for 40 years and has 25 years of experience as a Medical Director, including several years as UT’s Founding Academic Chair and Residency Training Program Director of Tennessee’s only program in in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
Little graduated from Western Michigan University with honors in 1972 with degrees in Biology and English and he took a job as a high school teacher. That same year, Little applied to medical school and joined the Army to fund his medical school training. After graduating from medical school at Wayne State University in 1977, Little completed his internship and took orders, spending three years as a Senior (III Corps) Flight Surgeon/Brigade Surgeon. Little completed his residency at Walter Reed Army Medical Center, Washington, DC, where he cared for active and retired disabled military personnel and their dependents.
