Mr. Perry retired in September 2021 from the University of North Carolina (UNC) Police Department in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, where he served as Assistant Vice
Chancellor for Safety and Chief of Police for two years. Before this role, he was the Assistant Vice President for Campus Safety and Chief of Police at the Florida State
University (FSU) Police Department from 2006 to 2019. From 2003 to 2006, Mr. Perry held the position of Deputy Chief of Police at Clemson University, ultimately serving as Acting Chief of Police prior to his departure. He was also a contributor to the Final
Report of The President’s Task Force on 21st Century Policing, published in May 2015.
