He was certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and licensed in 1976, and he became board-certified by the American Board of Audiology in 1999. In 1990, he was a guest speaker at the Fellows of the Howard House Foundation. In 1997, he served as an Expert Witness for the California Audiology and Speech Pathology Licensing Board.
