Ophthalmology Expert | Ocular Trauma | Vision Loss | Standard of Care Dr. Charlotte Akor, MD is a Yale University graduate and a board-certified ophthalmologist with nearly 20 years of clinical and surgical experience in cases involving ocular trauma, vision loss, general eye disease. She maintains an active general and pediatric ophthalmology practice and serves as a primary participant in her hospital’s trauma call rotation, managing acute ocular injuries and ophthalmic emergencies. Over the course of her career, Dr. Akor has evaluated and treated hundreds of acute ocular trauma cases, including open globe injuries, orbital fractures, intra-ocular foreign bodies, traumatic optic neuropathy, hyphema, retinal detachment, and post-traumatic diplopia.
