Dr. Joshua Wallenstein is a Professor of Emergency Medicine at Emory University School of Medicine and a board-certified emergency physician with more than two decades of clinical experience at Grady Memorial Hospital, one of the nation’s largest emergency departments and trauma centers. His expertise includes emergency care standards, clinical decision-making, cognitive bias in medicine, and physician education. Dr. Wallenstein is a national leader in medical education and currently serves as Director of the Clinical Reasoning Thread at Emory, where he leads curriculum development focused on diagnostic reasoning, patient safety, and evidence-based care. An award-winning educator, he has received multiple distinguished teaching honors and has delivered invited lectures nationally and internationally on seizure management, neurologic emergencies, trauma care, cognitive bias in clinical decision-making, and strategies to improve diagnostic accuracy in emergency settings. His peer-reviewed scholarship focuses on clinical reasoning, bias in healthcare decision-making, and the assessment of physician performance. Dr. Wallenstein has served as an expert witness in medical malpractice cases and criminal investigations and brings substantial experience in depositions and courtroom testimony.
