Ankur M. Shah, MD is a fellowship-trained ophthalmologist and retina specialist. He obtained his medical degree at Northwestern University in Chicago, where he graduated with Alpha Omega Alpha honors. He completed his residency in ophthalmology at the University of California in San Diego, where he served as Chief Resident. He then returned to Chicago where he completed a Medical Retina fellowship at Northwestern University Medical Center, followed by a Surgical Retina fellowship at the University of Chicago Medical Center. Dr. Shah now practices at the Midwest Eye Institute based in Carmel, IN, and also sees patients in Greenwood, IN and Kokomo, IN. Dr. Shah specializes in treatment of age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, retinal vascular occlusive disease, and ocular inflammation using the most effective pharmacologic and laser therapies. He provides surgical management of severe diabetic eye disease, retinal detachment, epiretinal membranes, macular holes, and vitreous floaters. He has extensive clinical research trial experience as a primary investigator and sub-investigator.
