Ray W. Christner, Psy.D., NCSP, ABPP, is a licensed psychologist in Pennsylvania and Delaware. He is also a nationally certified school psychologist and a nationally registered health service psychologist with 30 years of experience in mental health. Dr. Christner specializes in clinical and school psychology and is board-certified in behavioral and cognitive psychology. Based in Hanover, Pennsylvania, he operates an independent practice and provides telepsychology services in 43 states as an authorization holder of both APIT (Authorization to Practice Interjurisdictional Telepsychology) and TAP (Temporary Authorization to Practice). His services include psychological and neuropsychological testing, forensic evaluations, psychotherapy, expert witness review and testimony, and consultation, working with children, adolescents, and adults with psychological, developmental, social, behavioral, and learning differences. Dr. Christner has provided forensic psychological evaluations in educational, civil, and criminal cases, including IEEs, competency evaluations, IMEs, and risk assessments. For 11 years, he served as an expert reviewer for the Pennsylvania Department of State, addressing cases involving ethical and professional standards for the Board of Psychology and the Board of Social Workers, Marriage & Family Therapists, and Professional Counselors. In addition to clinical practice, Dr. Christner has taught in undergraduate and graduate programs in clinical and school psychology. Dr. Christner is a renowned author and speaker, having contributed extensively to the field through numerous publications, including books, book chapters, and articles. His book, Cognitive-Behavioral Interventions in Educational Settings: A Handbook for Practice, now in its third edition, has been translated into Japanese, Korean, and Romanian. He has presented over 200 workshops at local, state, national, and international venues. He is currently developing a new psychological test, the Christner Behavior and Adaptability Assessment System (C-BAASTM), which is set to be published by Psychological Assessment Resources, Inc. (PAR) in 2026. In addition, Dr. Christner shares his insights on psychology as the co-host of the podcast “Psyched to Practice” and writes the “Living Psyched” blog for Psychology Today. He frequently appears as a guest on other podcasts discussing psychology, education, and mental health. Dr. Christner’s work has been featured in prominent media outlets such as Today, Parents, Newsweek, Lifehacker, Yahoo! Life, ABC, Fox, Special Education Connection, and Authority Magazine, to name a few.
