9Additional Information
I am a board-certified full-time practicing emergency medicine physician. As the Assistant Medical Director and Director of Quality & Risk for my department, I review between 400-500 clinical cases per year. These are mostly related to unexpected patient outcomes, return visits requiring hospitalization following an ER discharge, staff member incident reports, or patient complaints. My analysis is used to determine follow-up actions including clinician education, systems improvements, and/or disciplinary measures. I am also an active member of the hospital multidisciplinary Clinical Performance Committee and the Trauma Peer Review Committee, both of which conduct in-depth analysis of patient cases. I have spearheaded efforts to improve clinical care in high-risk areas including stroke, heart attack, sepsis, and pediatric fever. I have received several recognitions including being named an Emergency Medicine ‘Top Doctor’ by Arlington Magazine in 2023 and voted ‘Emergency Physician of the Year’ by ER clinical and nursing staff in 2021. My primary site of practice is a 65,000 visit per year (~20% pediatrics) community emergency department that is a Level 2 Trauma Center and Advanced Thrombectomy-Capable Stroke Center.
