Derek Graham is a forty-year veteran of the construction industry - a construction expert with twenty-three years field experience, and sixteen years experience providing expert witness testimony and litigation consulting services, including construction cost analysis, construction estimation, construction schedule delay and disruption and time impact analysis, job safety, material design and product defects, change order analysis and reconcilement, construction accident causation, slip, trip and fall, architect and contractor standard of care, property damage, and breach of contract. Derek has testified in several states, as well as a number of Federal cases. His work is divided ⅔ for plaintiffs and ⅓ for defendants. Derek’s book Managing Residential Construction Projects: Strategies and Solutions, was published in 2006, by Mcgraw Hill Technical Book Group Derek worked as a high-end carpenter and millworker for his first eight years in the construction industry on over one-hundred sites before becoming an estimator and joining upper management as a project manager for fifteen-years in the luxury construction industry. He has estimated about seven-hundred projects, and managed a few-hundred projects. He has since worked an additional sixteen years as a senior scheduler for major capital construction projects both public and private, including Second Avenue Subway, SUNY MART Hospital, Times Square Tempo Hotel and Palace Theater Restoration, Corbin Building Restoration, Fulton Street Transit Center, Hudson Yards, and Line 7 Extension. Projects ranged in cost from $1M to $4B. Clients & Projects include hospitals, bio-medical, medical office, residential and medical developers and builders, and homeowners involved in luxury and high end residential and retail disputes in urban and suburban markets, to include high-rise out of the ground, and repurposing and renovation. Other specialties include hospitality, K-12 - higher education, affordable housing, retail, process plants, commercial properties, aviation, and affordable housing.
