Additional Information

I have been practicing in the field of nursing since 2006. While a registered nurse, I practiced on a med-surg floor, solid organ transplant unit and both hospital-based inpatient and outpatient clinics consulting as a wound ostomy nurse. I am currently a family nurse practitioner, (since Spring 2013), with experience in practicing in the Primary Care setting, SNF setting and Home Care setting. I have had my Wound Ostomy Nurse certification (since Summer 2010) and have been actively practicing wound care in these various settings. I have been certified in advanced nursing hospice and palliative care (since 2019) and am currently mostly practicing in this field. I present at both local and national conferences, and have created various forms of continuing education for registered nurses, (in-person and electronically based) mostly regarding wounds; pressure injuries, lower extremity wounds, skin tears, hospice and palliative wound care and ostomy care. I have created and updated multiple practice policies and procedures for my current company, and have participated in multiple patient quality case reviews. I have been working as an independent medical expert witness (since Fall 2024); providing case review, analysis of standard of care, written opinions and consultations for ongoing legal matters.
