Frequent national speaker at NCCHC conferences and AANP national conferences regarding current issues and standards of care for nurse practitioners and correctional staff. Published author regarding a study on hypertension medication adherence. High-level administration experience in both acute and post-acute settings, including wound care and nursing home standards of care. Nationally certified in advanced practice wound care (CWCN-AP), with extensive experience in complex wounds from etiology to treatment and standard of care. Currently practicing in a large metro jail, with an average daily census of 3500 inmates, functioning as the solo night provider. Responsible for urgent and emergent issues, complex detoxification issues, including initiation and continuation of medication-assisted treatment (MAT) plans from the community. Management and evaluation of trauma and head injuries within the correctional setting, wound care management, and similar high-level clinical decisions.
