Served as a medical officer in the United States Navy, achieving the rank of Commander. Awarded 3 Navy Achievement Medals. Experienced in all settings: from the sands of Afghanistan, the beaches of Okinawa, academic medical centers, all the way to the rural South. Fluent in English and Spanish with formal training in medical Spanish. Well versed in critical care for the spectrum of life: precipitous deliveries, pediatric medicine, trauma, geriatric emergency medicine. Expert in airway emergencies with proficient use of a variety of modalities.
