As the Trauma Medical Director and Chief of Acute Care Surgery he brings expertise in Trauma, Emergency General Surgery, and Surgical Critical Care. Dr. Elefant trained at the prestigious Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore and is double board certified by the American Board of Surgery in both General Surgery and Surgical Critical Care. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and is a member of the Eastern Association for the Surgery of Trauma and the American Association for the Surgery of Trauma. Prior to his medical career he studied mathematics and physics, and obtained a Master’s degree from Columbia University in Biomedical Engineering.
