Ronen Elefant, MD, MBA, MSEng is an Acute Care Surgeon in active practice for over 10 years. As the Trauma Medical Director and Chief of Acute Care Surgery he brings expertise in Trauma, Emergency General Surgery, and Surgical Critical Care. Dr. Elefant trained at the prestigious Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore and is double board certified by the American Board of Surgery in both General Surgery and Surgical Critical Care. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and is a member of the Eastern Association for the Surgery of Trauma and the American Association for the Surgery of Trauma. Prior to his medical career he studied mathematics and physics, and obtained a Master’s degree from Columbia University in Biomedical Engineering. This training in seemingly diverse fields allows Dr. Elefant to synthesize information in his expert opinion work and convey the complex medical information in a simple, easy to understand manner. Additionally, Dr. Elefant is actively involved in teaching nurses and physician extenders, including Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners.
