Jeffrey M. Farber, MD, FACS, is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon and has been performing surgery for over 41 years. Dr. Scherl is a board-certified, trauma fellowship-trained, orthopedic surgeon with more than28 years of clinical experience. After graduating magna cum laude from Brown University, he obtained his medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania. He completed his Orthopedic Surgery residency at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City, and his fellowship in Orthopedic Trauma at the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond. He has performed over 3000 surgeries. Dr. Scherl ran a solo private practice in New Jersey from 2002-2024. During that time, he took call at Hackensack University Medical Center, a Level-1 trauma center. He currently practices Acute Care Orthopedics at a Level-3 trauma center in Connecticut for TeamHealth, a physician staffing company. I grew up in Medford, New Jersey. I was inspired to go into medicine by his father, who was a primary care physician in Medford for 40 years. I attended Johns Hopkins University as an undergraduate and then returned to New Jersey for medical school at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson. I thoroughly enjoyed the time I spent working on the orthopedic surgery service and went on to do my residency in orthopedics at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. I loved working on the pediatric orthopedic service at Case, especially being able to make such a significant difference in the lives of children and their families. I went on to pursue my pediatric orthopedic fellowship at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital. I then moved to New Orleans to practice pediatric orthopedics at Ochsner Medical Center.
