I have a broad clinical experience in plastic surgery including both aesthetic surgery and reconstructive surgery. My career began in academics as Assistant Professor of Plastic Surgery at Oregon Health Sciences University following a fellowship in hand and microsurgery. I started a private practice in Santa Barbara where for over 20 years I did almost exclusively aesthetic surgery and adjunctive, nonsurgical aesthetic procedures such as injectables and laser/IPL. I continue to do aesthetic surgery, but now work at a regional medical center in Tennessee (Ascension St. Thomas Rutherford in Murfreesboro, Tennessee) where my practice is predominately hand surgery, breast reconstruction, complex wound care, and skin cancer. I often work with orthopedic surgeons, general surgeons, oncologic breast surgeons, dermatologists, and wound care specialists to provide appropriate plastic surgery support.

Dr. Scott J. Farber is a board-certified, actively practicing plastic and reconstructive surgeon who provides expert analysis and testimony in personal-injury and medical-malpractice cases involving facial injuries, burns, lacerations and scarring, disfigurement, and the standard of care in plastic, cosmetic, and reconstructive surgery. Because he treats these injuries every week — repairing facial fractures, reconstructing burns, and revising scars and lacerations — he gives attorneys a current, operating-room perspective on what reconstruction requires and on the honest limits of what surgery can restore. He opines on both liability and damages, including the staging, lifetime cost, and permanency of future reconstructive care, and consults for plaintiff and defense alike.
Dr. Farber's clinical focus is squarely in the injuries that drive these cases: facial trauma and facial fracture management, burn and scar reconstruction, complex laceration and soft-tissue repair, hand and pe...
