Dr. Alexander Axelrad, MD,FACS,FCCM, has been a Trauma/Critical Care surgeon for many years. For approximately twenty years , he has been a Trauma Medical Director. While born in Brooklyn, New York, he was raised and grew up on a poultry farm in central New Jersey. After graduating from Cook College,Rutgers University with a BS degree, he then pursued and received his Master’s Degree at Fairleigh Dickinson University in biology. Afterwards, he completed his medical schooling south of the border at the Autonomous University of Guadalajara, Mexico. Dr. Axelrad then completed his five years of general surgery residency at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York. In 1991, he was accepted and completed a two year fellowship at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital in Surgical Critical Care and Trauma Surgery.
