I grew up in Canada, Iran, and Japan before moving to the U.S. for college. I majored in biophysics and biochemistry at Yale University and continued my studies there for medical school, where I discovered my passion for ophthalmology. Afterward, I completed an internship at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in NYC, followed by an ophthalmology residency at Columbia University, where I had the honor of serving as chief resident. I then completed my vitreoretinal surgery fellowship at the University of Colorado Medical Center in Denver.
