Troy Newman is the Managing Partner for Group Nine Risk Consulting, a security risk management and forensic consulting firm. In addition to his work as an expert witness, Troy works with organizations to conduct security risk assessments and is a regular speaker on violence prevention and risk mitigation. Troy is a United States Army veteran, with service in Iraq and Afghanistan. He served 25 years in the Military Police, retiring as a Colonel in 2020. During his Army career, he was responsible for security and law enforcement operations, including numerous aspects of security risk management. Following his military career, Troy served in state government, leading a 30-person team to deliver preparedness and resilience activities for Washington State Emergency Management.
