Dr. Franklin W. Lusby, Jr. is a distinguished ophthalmologist and refractive surgeon with a robust career spanning over four decades. Born and raised in Maryland, he completed his undergraduate education at Columbia Union College with a B.A. in Chemistry, graduating Magna Cum Laude in 1974. He earned his medical degree from Loma Linda University School of Medicine in 1978.
Following an internship at Malden Hospital affiliated with Boston University School of Medicine, Dr. Lusby pursued pre-residency studies in Basic and Clinical Sciences for Ophthalmology at Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary, Harvard Medical School. He then completed his residency in Ophthalmology at White Memorial Medical Center, Los Angeles, California, in 1983, and further specialized with a fellowship in extracapsular cataract extraction and intraocular lens implantation at Glendale Eye Medical Group.
