Dr. Tony Nettleman, PhD, Esq, PLS, is a nationally recognized land surveying expert witness licensed in twelve states — Florida, Texas, California, New Mexico, Alabama, South Dakota, West Virginia, Kentucky, Nevada, Virginia, Louisiana, and Ohio, and a licensed attorney in Florida. He has provided expert testimony in over 200 cases across the country and has never been successfully Daubert challenged. Attorneys retain Dr. Nettleman for boundary disputes, easement conflicts, land title issues, adverse possession claims, riparian and littoral rights, surveyor negligence, encroachment, right-of-way disputes, and standard-of-care matters. His dual background as both a licensed surveyor and a trained attorney gives him a rare ability to communicate complex technical findings clearly and persuasively to judges and juries. Dr. Nettleman is the author and co-author of leading land surveying textbooks, including Clark on Surveying, Evidence & Procedure for Boundary Location, and Brown's Boundary Control, collectively cited over 200 times in state courts nationwide. He publishes extensively in peer-reviewed and trade journals and lectures to surveying professionals across the country through one-day seminars and university courses. He is an active officer and committee member of the International Federation of Surveyors (FIG) and the National Society of Professional Surveyors (NSPS). Dr. Nettleman has particular experience in high-stakes cases involving oil and gas right-of-way, coastal and waterfront boundary disputes, subdivision platting errors, and construction encroachment claims. He is frequently retained in cases where survey methodology, GPS accuracy, or historical deed interpretation is at issue. Dr. Nettleman is available for case review, consultation, deposition, and trial testimony nationwide.
