Dr. Richard C. Smith, MD, FAAOS Board-Certified Orthopedic Surgeon | Central Florida Dr. Richard C. Smith, MD, FAAOS, is a highly experienced, board-certified orthopedic surgeon serving patients throughout Central Florida. With more than 30 years of clinical experience, Dr. Smith has provided expert evaluation, treatment recommendations, and medical opinions for a wide range of orthopedic conditions, including sports-related injuries and complex spinal disorders. Dr. Smith earned his medical degree from Hahnemann University Medical School and completed his orthopedic surgery residency at the Medical College of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. He further demonstrated leadership and advanced expertise while serving as Chief of Spinal Surgery at the Naval Hospital in Orlando. Committed to the highest standards of medical excellence, Dr. Smith is a member of the North American Spine Society and holds fellowships with several distinguished organizations, including the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the American College of Surgeons, the National Board of Physicians and Surgeons, the National Board of Medical Examiners, and the Association for Medical Ethics.
