I am a triple board certified and Mayo-trained Hematologist/Medical Oncologist offering 24/7 medical consultation for clients with cancer and complex internal medicine diseases. I actively manage patient care. I am available for medical legal expert witness cases (plaintiff and defense). I have assisted in over 450 cases and done numerous reports, depositions (112) and several trials (27) since 1996 (as of March 26, 2026). I am board certified in Internal Medicine, Hematology and Medical Oncology. My Hematology/Medical Oncology training was at the Mayo Clinic in 1985-88. I worked in Missoula, Montana from November 1988 until June 2010. I joined Maui Medical Group in June 2010. In March 2011, I opened up a medical consultation and expert witness business - Quality Cancer Care/Judy L Schmidt MD FACP. I have been a very active member of ASCO (American Society of Clinical Oncology); this has included numerous positions associated with Medicare and Quality Cancer Care. ASCO asked me to testify in Washington DC in 1999 for a senate subcommittee on Quality Cancer Care hosted by Senators Diane Feinstein and Connie Mack. My solo Hematology/Oncology Montana clinic helped ASCO develop the parameters by which we now measure Quality Cancer Care (QOPI). I received the Professional of the Year award (for quality patient care) in 1999 from Coping Magazine. In 2004, I received an award from the Mayo Clinic for my excellence in clinical medicine. I was on the board of directors of the ACCC (Association of Community Cancer Centers). I hold active licenses in the states of Montana, Hawaii and California.
