Nathan F. Gilbert, MD, FAAOS is a board certified orthopaedic surgeon based in Dallas, Texas, with more than 15 years of active subspecialty practice in orthopaedic oncology and sarcoma surgery, complex reconstruction and revision joint arthroplasty, prosthetic joint infection, and orthopaedic infection management. He provides expert witness services to plaintiff and defense counsel nationally through Apex Orthopaedic Oncology and Complex Reconstruction Consulting. Dr. Gilbert trained at UT Southwestern Medical Center and completed his subspecialty fellowship in orthopaedic oncology at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. He performs approximately 750 surgical cases annually, including approximately 400 revision joint arthroplasty procedures per year — among the highest volumes in the United States — and more than 200 prosthetic joint infection cases per year across all joint systems.
