Christopher Taicher, MD, is a Harvard-trained, board-certified emergency medicine physician who provides expert witness services, medical-legal chart review, and standard-of-care analysis in emergency and acute care matters. He completed emergency medicine residency nearly a decade ago through the Harvard Affiliated Emergency Medicine Residency at Massachusetts General Hospital and Brigham and Women’s Hospital, after receiving an internal medicine degree from Albert Einstein College of Medicine/Montefiore Medical Center. He earned his MD from the University of Vermont College of Medicine. Dr. Taicher has practiced across an unusually broad spectrum of hospital environments, from elite academic centers to high-volume community emergency departments and teaching hospitals. His attending experience includes Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, Centinela Hospital Medical Center, Providence Saint John’s Health Center, Southern California Hospital Medical Center, and Ventura County Medical Center, where he currently practices and teaches. At Centinela, he worked during it's position in Los Angeles as the busiest ambulance-receiving hospital during the COVID era. Across these settings, he has been recognized for a calm, highly disciplined approach under pressure and has often been entrusted with especially high-stakes and VIP cases. His perspective as an expert is shaped not only by frontline clinical practice, but also by his work on the causes of medical error. At Carnegie Mellon University’s 2026 McGinnis Venture Competition, he presented an educational technology solution aimed at reducing preventable medical error and was awarded the Gebhardt Prize. That work reflects his view that many organizational and systems failures in medicine are actually physician knowledge gaps and clinical reasoning errors. He has also performed careful chart review in Los Angeles that has contributed to changes in case outcomes. Dr. Taicher is an accomplished educator, author, speaker, entrepreneur, and inventor. He is the author of Preparing for Residency: The Hidden Curriculum of Team Building and Clinical Skills, a #1 Amazon New Release in medical education. He has served as an instructor for the Los Angeles Police Department in CPR/AED, resuscitation, and airway training, and has appeared as a physician guest and expert speaker in multiple media and professional outlets. He is also the sole inventor on a granted U.S. patent for an adult and pediatric intubation device. He particularly enjoys expert witness and chart review work because it allows him to combine deep clinical analysis, strategic thinking, and clear communication in service of resolving high-stakes cases fairly and accurately. He genuinely loves reviewing charts and values the opportunity to dissect complex medical records, clarify pivotal clinical events, and help attorneys understand the facts with precision and credibility. He is available for expert witness consultation, chart review, standard-of-care review, causation analysis, deposition, and trial support in matters involving emergency medicine, acute care, delayed or missed diagnosis, documentation, handoffs, communication failures, and hospital-based systems issues.
