Her proven track record includes reconstructing incident timelines, analyzing site configurations, and auditing historical training records to secure citation deletions, downgrade willful violations, and significantly reduce regulatory penalties. Beyond immediate litigation defense, Dr. Martin routinely assists legal teams and corporate clients in negotiating OSHA Consent Orders and executing post-incident corrective actions, including comprehensive safety management system upgrades and proactive hazard mitigation strategies. Dr. Martin has 36 years of experience in occupational safety and health consulting and program development and management in construction, healthcare, oil and gas, process safety, hazardous chemical, hazardous waste, process safety, chemical management, general industry, transportation/DOT, industrial hygiene, toxicology, epidemiology, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, consulting, expert witness testimony, and OSHA compliance and violation support services. She provides large-scale risk/safety program management and safety best practice advisement and evaluation to clients in multiple industries seeking to improve their safety management systems and worker, volunteer, and associate training/protection measures related to OSHA compliance, hazardous chemical/drug exposure, hazard identification, risk assessment, and corrective action selection. Evaluation of past and present metrics and risk/safety management needs based on historical, present, and future work projections is a hallmark of Dr. Martin’s expertise. Dr. Martin holds a PhD in Occupational Safety and Health, a MS in Occupational Safety Management, a MBA in Business Administration, and BS in Geology. Her certifications include: Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), Certified Safety Professional (CSP), and Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM). Dr. Martin is the 2018 National Safety Council Marion Martin Award winner for women who have achieved professional excellence in their specialty and have actively helped pave the way for other women in the safety profession, and the Board of Global EHS Credentialing (formerly the American Board of Industrial Hygiene) CIH Impact Award winner for diplomates who have made a significant, positive impact on the practice of occupational and environmental hygiene.
