Alexander Iteen M.D. is a board certified Emergency Medicine physician currently practicing in both academic and community settings. Dr. Iteen holds an academic appointment at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences and regularly instructs both medical students and residents on Emergency Medicine standards of care. Given Dr. Iteen's background in military medicine and wilderness medicine, he has expertise and experience in providing care in limited and remote settings. Dr. Iteen has multiple peer-reviewed publications and national presentations on the topics of peri-intubation resuscitation, airway management, trauma care, vascular access, medical education, and procedural techniques. Dr. Iteen currently runs a unique procedural lab for medical students and residents teaching both core emergency medicine procedures as well as high acuity, low occurrence procedures. Dr. Iteen also leads an airway review for the academic institution he teaches in, ensuring intubations are done to the highest standard. Dr. Iteen regularly reviews cases in both institutions he works in and has contributed to systems-level standard of care reviwes regarding high risk cases.
