Prior to that role I was Head of Insurance Litigation for Markel Insurance, a multi-national specialty insurer in the Fortune 200 with $15.5bn in gross written premium in 2025. As the Head of Insurance Litigation for Markel I owned responsibility for all bad faith and extra-contractual litigation across the country, as well as advising Markel International on its U.S. litigation. As the practice leader of McGuireWoods' insurance recovery team, I oversaw 28 attorneys representing policyholders across the U.S. At another law firm I led a team handling insurance bad faith litigation as well as cybersecurity matters. I provide independent, authoritative analysis across property, casualty, and specialty lines, with deep expertise in industry standards, regulatory expectations, operational protocols, and insurer best practices.
