I am a board-certified nephrologist and Associate Professor of Internal Medicine with extensive clinical, academic, and administrative experience in kidney disease, dialysis, electrolyte disorders, and critical care nephrology. My practice includes management of both acute and chronic kidney disease in inpatient and outpatient settings, along with oversight of dialysis services as a dialysis medical director. My clinical work focuses on acute kidney injury (AKI), chronic kidney disease (CKD), end-stage kidney disease (ESKD), and complex electrolyte and acid-base disorders. I routinely manage critically ill patients requiring renal replacement therapy, including intermittent hemodialysis and continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT) in intensive care settings. I also provide care for patients with advanced CKD, including dialysis planning and complications of kidney failure. As a dialysis medical director, I oversee dialysis quality metrics, patient safety initiatives, infection monitoring, anemia management protocols, dialysis adequacy, and regulatory compliance. This leadership role provides direct insight into the clinical and operational standards governing dialysis facilities and multidisciplinary dialysis care teams. My areas of expertise include acute kidney injury, dialysis initiation and management, fluid and electrolyte disorders, acid-base physiology, CRRT in critical illness, glomerular disease, and complications of advanced CKD. I frequently evaluate complex cases involving severe electrolyte abnormalities such as hyponatremia and hypernatremia, dialysis-related complications including intradialytic hypotension, and kidney failure in critically ill patients. In addition to clinical practice, I serve as academic faculty and teach medical students, residents, and fellows in nephrology and internal medicine. My teaching focuses on dialysis management, electrolyte disorders, and evidence-based CKD care. I also participate in physician education initiatives aimed at improving early detection and management of chronic kidney disease. My academic and quality improvement work includes initiatives related to CKD detection, dialysis outcomes, and implementation of evidence-based nephrology care. These efforts focus on improving systems of care for patients with kidney disease and strengthening collaboration between nephrology and primary care. I provide expert witness services involving nephrology and dialysis-related care. My work includes detailed medical record review, evaluation of standard of care, causation analysis, and preparation of written expert reports. I am available for deposition and trial testimony when needed. Cases commonly reviewed include acute kidney injury diagnosis or management, dialysis initiation decisions, dialysis-related complications, electrolyte management errors (including hyponatremia), CRRT management in critically ill patients, delayed nephrology referral in CKD, complications of dialysis access, and dialysis facility safety issues. My approach to case review is systematic and evidence-based. I reconstruct the clinical timeline, identify key decision points, and compare management decisions with established medical guidelines and accepted standards of care. I focus on providing objective, scientifically grounded opinions and explaining complex nephrology issues clearly for attorneys, judges, and juries.
