Amy Pease, MSN, ANP-BC, AAHIVS Primary Care & Healthcare Systems Consultant Infectious Disease | Long-Term Care | Insurance & Documentation Review Licensed Advanced Practice Nurse Prescriber – Wisconsin Amy Pease is an Adult Nurse Practitioner with more than 25 years of clinical experience in internal medicine, primary care, infectious disease, and healthcare systems across inpatient, outpatient, and long-term care settings. She is board certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) and is a Certified HIV Specialist (AAHIVS). She holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a Master of Science in Nursing (Adult Nurse Practitioner emphasis) from the University of Wisconsin–Madison. Ms. Pease currently manages approximately 700 active patients and has overseen care for more than 5,000 patients receiving HIV pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) throughout her career. Her clinical practice includes complex chronic disease management, infectious disease care, STI diagnosis and treatment, medication management, and multidisciplinary care coordination. Her experience spans the full continuum of care: • Inpatient medical-surgical units in Level I trauma centers and community hospitals • Ambulatory internal medicine and primary care • Long-term care (skilled nursing facilities, CBRFs, group homes) • Long-term acute care hospitals (LTACH) • Home-based care Ms. Pease has substantial leadership and systems-level experience. As a clinical nurse manager in a 24/7 acute care environment, she supervised approximately 40 staff members, managed incident review processes, and oversaw quality metrics and performance improvement initiatives. She has designed and implemented clinical workflows, developed telehealth PrEP protocols, and participated in institutional policy committees and guideline implementation efforts. She has extensive experience with insurance authorization processes for medications, advanced imaging, specialty referrals, and surgical eligibility determinations. Her work includes prior authorizations, multi-level appeals, coverage criteria interpretation, Medicare/Medicaid billing familiarity, and documentation review related to medical necessity determinations. She is fluent in Epic electronic medical records. Ms. Pease serves as an adjunct faculty member at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and provides guest lectures to students in nursing, medicine, and pharmacy programs.
