Dr. Lauren Donnelly is an actively practicing, board-certified Emergency Medicine physician with more than 14 years of experience in both community and academic settings. She completed her Emergency Medicine residency training at Hahnemann Hospital / Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia, where she served as Chief Resident. Dr. Donnelly currently serves as the Assistant Program Director and Clerkship Director for the Emergency Medicine residency at Southwest Healthcare Medical Education Consortium (MEC), a large community-based academic program training 36 emergency medicine residents. In these leadership roles, she is extensively involved in physician education, clinical supervision, competency assessment, and professional standards, providing her with deep expertise in emergency department operations, resident supervision, and standard-of-care expectations. She has been an active member of her hospital’s Ethics Committee for over five years, contributing to institutional decision-making on complex ethical issues, informed consent, end-of-life care, and conflict resolution in acute care settings. Dr. Donnelly has experience providing expert medical opinions, trial testimony, and serving as a court witness in matters involving emergency medicine care. Her testimony is informed by active clinical practice, academic leadership, and a detailed understanding of emergency department workflows and risk management. In addition to her clinical and legal work, Dr. Donnelly serves as a Reviewer for The Journal of Emergency Medicine, further underscoring her expertise in evidence-based practice and critical appraisal of emergency medicine literature.
