Dr. Orwig is board certified in Emergency Medicine and Undersea and Hyperbaric Medicine. She has thirteen years experience in Emergency Medicine and over eight years of experience as a board-certified Wound and Hyperbaric Specialist. She serves as the Section Chief of Wound and Hyperbaric Medicine at Corewell Heath Hospital System (formally Spectrum Health) in Grand Rapids, MI. Dr. Orwig oversees several wound and hyperbaric programs within West Michigan as well as the only emergent and critical care hyperbaric chamber in the state of Michigan. Dr. Orwig sits on the Education and Quality Committees for the Undersea and Hyperbaric Medicine Society and serves as the Chair Elect for the Undersea and Hyperbaric Medicine Chapter for ACEP. She sits on the credentials committee, professional standards committee, finance committee for the Corewell Hospital System. She has given numerous lectures on Wound Care, Hyperbaric Medicine, and Dive Medicine for various groups. She has several publications both on wound care and hyperbaric medicine. She has written a book chapter on hyperbaric medicine for Limb Salvage with a publication date in 2026.
