Additional Information

I am a board-certified Emergency Physician with nearly 2 decades in the Emergency Department and 10 plus years of experience in correctional healthcare, including service as Medical Director for two large Metro-Atlanta county jail systems. My background includes frontline clinical care, executive medical leadership, and operational oversight within correctional environments. After transitioning from emergency medicine, my career has focused on the delivery, management, and evaluation of healthcare services in jails and correctional facilities. I have extensive experience with correctional standards of care, compliance, quality improvement, and NCCHC accreditation, as well as a practical understanding of how policies, staffing, and operational constraints impact medical decision-making. I provide expert analysis in matters involving correctional medicine, medical negligence, standards of care, and system operations. I am known for impeccable clinical skills, meticulous medical record review, clear written reports, and effective communication of complex medical issues to colleagues and lay people. My approach is objective, well-reasoned, and grounded in real-world correctional healthcare practice. In addition to expert witness work, I have a strong interest in education and regularly teach clinical, operational, and regulatory topics using a clear, common-sense approach that makes complex concepts accessible to non-medical audiences.
