Steve is a senior consultant at Group Nine Risk Consulting and an experienced professional with 30 years of career experience in security and law enforcement. Steve is board certified in Security Management, holding a Certified Protection Professional (CPP) certification through ASIS International and holds a Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design Professional Designation (CPD) through the National Institute of Crime Prevention. Steve holds a current Workplace Violence Instructor certification through the Center For Personal Protection and Safety (CPPS). Steve is an active member in ASIS, U.S. CPTED Association, International Association of Professional Security Consultants, InfraGard, and the American Crime Prevention Institute. Steve is a retired State Trooper and served for 23 years with the Iowa Department of Public Safety. He served in numerous specialty assignments and duties throughout his career including hostage crisis negotiations, firearms instruction, and K-9 handler. Steve was assigned to work a special assignment for the last three years of his career working as a team member of the Human Trafficking Initiative Project at the Direction of the Commissioner of Public Safety. Steve had experience in security guard force and protection duties prior to law enforcement and during his law enforcement career.
