Dr. Gabriel J. Kaufman is a dual board-certified plastic and reconstructive surgeon and breast surgical oncologist with extensive experience in complex breast cancer surgery, breast reconstruction, and cosmetic breast surgery. His clinical background includes advanced fellowship training in oncoplastic breast surgery in both the United States and Europe, as well as academic and hospital-based practice focused on the full spectrum of breast surgical care. Dr. Kaufman has experience consulting on complex medical-legal matters involving breast cancer treatment, surgical planning, reconstruction timing and technique, breast silicone implant complications and revision procedures, and management of postoperative complications. His expert work includes analysis of standards of care, surgical decision-making, informed consent, complication management, and postoperative outcomes in cases involving significant clinical, technical, and judgment-based issues. He has authored multiple peer-reviewed publications in leading surgical journals and has delivered invited and peer-reviewed presentations at major national and international breast surgery and oncology conferences, including meetings focused on oncoplastic techniques, breast reconstruction outcomes, and breast cancer surgical planning. His academic work addresses issues frequently central to medical malpractice litigation, including margin management, reconstruction strategy, implant-related complications, fat grafting, and aesthetic outcomes. Dr. Kaufman’s expert opinions are grounded in accepted medical standards, peer-reviewed literature, and active clinical practice. He approaches each matter independently and objectively and serves as an expert for both plaintiff and defense cases.
