Additional Information

Dr. Simmons is a board-certified child neurologist in active outpatient practice, providing comprehensive neurological evaluation and longitudinal care for patients from the neonatal period through early adulthood, with continued follow-up into later decades of life for select individuals. He diagnoses and manages a broad range of pediatric neurological conditions, including epilepsy, neurodevelopmental disorders, and pediatric brain injury. Dr. Simmons has over fifteen years of independent clinical experience as an attending physician and currently serves as the sole child neurologist within his practice, working collaboratively with a physician assistant and maintaining responsibility for clinical decision-making, care coordination, and continuity of care. His clinical work regularly involves the evaluation of children with hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy and other forms of pediatric brain injury, as well as the longitudinal neurological management of affected patients. In addition to clinical practice, Dr. Simmons provides independent medical-legal consultation in pediatric neurology, including medical record review and expert analysis related to neurological diagnosis, standard of care, and causation. He has provided sworn trial testimony and provided written reports for case review. Dr. Simmons is licensed to practice medicine in New York State and holds board certification in Neurology with Special Qualification in Child Neurology and subspecialty certification in Epilepsy, both with continuing certification status.
