Melissa Lomax, PE, SI is a licensed Professional Engineer and Special Inspector (ltd) in the state of Florida with over 20 years of experience. Her background encompasses performing structural condition and damage assessments, structural cost estimating, milestone inspections, structural repair design, project bidding and construction engineering & inspections on concrete restoration projects, mostly driven by corrosion damage. Ms. Lomax has written hundreds of technical reports and presented findings to building owners and operators. She has managed dozens of multi-million dollar restoration projects throughout Florida. She has also designed many residential and marine structures to provide elevated corrosion control and elevated compliance to high wind environments. Ms. Lomax is certified by the Association for Materials Protection & Performance (AMPP, formerly National Association of Corrosion Engineers) as a Corrosion Technician and a Cathodic Protection Tester. She holds additional training and/or memberships with: International Concrete Repair Institute, American Concrete Institute, American Society of Civil Engineers, International Code Council, etc. She also hold speciality expert witness training from SEAK which allows her to successfully translate her training into the courtroom.
