11Additional Information
I am a board certified Internal Medicine physician and Hospitalist Medical Director with more than a decade of continuous inpatient practice at a large tertiary academic medical center. My clinical work focuses on the management of complex hospitalized patients and the oversight of hospital quality, patient safety, and clinical decision making in the inpatient setting, including transplant and high acuity medical services. I provide objective, evidence based expert opinions for plaintiff and defense counsel in matters involving medical malpractice, hospital negligence, and professional liability. My work frequently involves the evaluation of complex hospital records, multidisciplinary care environments, evolving clinical conditions, and time sensitive medical decision making in hospitalized patients. Common case themes include delayed or missed diagnosis, failure to recognize or appropriately respond to clinical deterioration, failure to escalate care, failure to rescue events, sepsis and septic shock, pulmonary embolism and venous thromboembolism, anticoagulation and bleeding complications, medication errors and adverse drug events, hospital acquired conditions, and communication failures among hospital teams as well as failures involving transitions in care (hospital to outpatient, hospital to SNF or Long Term Care). I also evaluate cases involving skilled nursing facility (SNF) and rehabilitation facility negligence and post-acute care management, including failures in monitoring, escalation, and physician oversight. These matters often involve pressure injuries, wound deterioration, diabetic foot infections, osteomyelitis, limb threatening complications, and preventable patient harm when recognition or treatment is delayed. My expert services include rapid case screening, comprehensive medical record review, standard of care analysis, Affidavits of Merit, expert reports, causation analysis, deposition testimony, and trial testimony. I routinely analyze complex hospital, outpatient and post-acute care records involving multidisciplinary teams, progressive clinical deterioration, and high-risk medical decision making
