Daniel Milyavsky, MD is a board-certified Emergency Medicine physician actively practicing in an academic Level I Trauma Center emergency department. He is an attending physician at Creighton University Medical Center – Bergan Mercy in Omaha, Nebraska, where he provides emergency care in a high-acuity setting and is involved in the education and supervision of emergency medicine residents and medical students as Creighton University faculty. Dr. Milyavsky completed his Emergency Medicine residency training at Morristown Medical Center in New Jersey and has practiced in a variety of emergency department settings, including academic trauma centers, high-volume community hospitals, and freestanding emergency departments. His clinical experience includes care of patients presenting with chest pain and acute coronary syndromes, stroke and other neurologic emergencies, sepsis and septic shock, trauma, airway and respiratory emergencies, and undifferentiated medical complaints. He is experienced in evaluating emergency department standard of care, including medical decision-making, diagnostic workups, triage and disposition decisions, and consultant involvement. His areas of particular familiarity include delayed or missed diagnosis, failure to treat, failure to admit, failure to consult, documentation issues, and emergency department processes of care. In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Milyavsky has served on residency education and recruitment committees and has participated in hospital quality and flow initiatives aimed at improving patient handoffs and admission processes. He has presented at national emergency medicine meetings and academic conferences and has received the Sir William Osler Award for Academic Excellence for performance on the ABEM In-Training Examination. Dr. Milyavsky is available to provide independent medical record review, written expert opinions, case merit evaluations, depositions, and trial testimony in matters involving emergency medicine. He is board certified by the American Board of Emergency Medicine, maintains active clinical practice, and is available for both plaintiff and defense matters.
