Dr. Marc Chasin is a physician and healthcare technology executive with more than two decades of experience advising and leading healthcare organizations through complex technology, regulatory, and operational challenges. He currently serves as a Chief Digital & Information Officer. He has led both large multi-hospital health systems and small rural hospitals in implementing and governing enterprise healthcare technology, including electronic health record (EHR) systems, enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, cybersecurity programs, and data governance initiatives. In this executive role, the Chief Medical Information Officer (CMIO), Chief Nursing Information Officer (CNIO, Chief Technology Officer (CTO), and Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) report directly to Dr. Chasin, reflecting his comprehensive oversight of clinical, technical, and security operations. His expertise includes assessing AI-enabled clinical systems and protocol adherence, as well as analyzing HIPAA, cybersecurity, and data governance compliance. He also reviews EHR functionality, audit trails, and clinical documentation; identifies deviations from healthcare IT standards of care; and evaluates vendor performance, contracts, and business disputes. His work focuses on improving patient safety and experience, provider efficiency, and organizational performance through the strategic use of technology. He is nationally recognized for his leadership in healthcare innovation and has served on multiple national health IT advisory and governance boards. As an expert witness, Dr. Chasin assists counsel by providing clear, independent analysis of healthcare technology issues central to litigation and dispute resolution, including analysis of EHR functionality and audit trails, data integrity, technical and operational workflows, evaluation of cybersecurity and privacy controls, review of AI-enabled clinical tools, and explanation of complex medical-technology concepts. He prepares expert reports and has experience providing expert testimony at both deposition and trial.
