Additional Information

I am a board certified Emergency Medicine physician with extensive experience in many different areas of clinical practice, from Level 1 Tertiary Academic Emergency Departments to small community hospitals. Through mentoring, SEAK training, experience, and research I have developed a strong understanding to the intricacies of the medical-legal system, and the long-term commitment and persistence required to be an effective medical expert. I began my medical career in 2014 as a US Navy Physician, serving as Flight Surgeon and medical department head with a Marine Corps squadron. During deployment overseas, with over 2500 Navy and Marine personnel, I served as sole Flight Surgeon, ensuring our Marine and Navy pilots maintained flight and combat readiness. Working in mainly medically austere environments, my duties included care for acute and emergent conditions, mass casualty operations, coordinating MedEvac transport, and medical support for real-world combat missions, for which I received the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal. In addition to my military duties, I would often moonlight in local civilian urgent cares to maintain a high level of medical competency. Since leaving active duty in 2018, I have continued clinical practice in a variety of settings, including emergency departments, urgent cares, and Veterans Affairs clinics. I serve on several committees including a Peer Review Oversight Committee, where I assess and recommend action and/or guidance in regards to appropriateness of patient care. My extensive experience in several different areas of medicine gives me a unique perspective on the standards of care in the delivery of Emergency and Urgent Care. Whether an academic tertiary care hospital with every specialist in-house, or a small community hospital with few consultants, I understand the unique advantages and challenges emergency and urgent care physicians face based on resources and ancillary support. My experience enables me to provide outstanding medical-legal consultation and expert testimony in medical malpractice, personal injury, negligence, standard of care, causation, and wrongful death cases to attorneys nationwide. I continuously engage in professional development and education to stay current with medical advancements and guidelines, and will provide efficient and honest opinions.
