8Additional Information
I am a licensed psychologist in California specializing in forensic and neuropsychological evaluations with approximately 15 years of clinical, correctional, and forensic experience. I have specialized training in PTSD and trauma-related disorders. I provided trauma informed treatment in private practice utilizing evidenced based methods to individuals who experienced negative emotions, cognition, and impairment in functioning. Additionally, I have extensive training in adolescent brain development, brain disorders, and neuropsychology as I completed a two-year postdoctoral specialization in Neuropsychology through Fielding University. I conduct a range of psycho-legal evaluations. My opinions are grounded in evidence-based, empirically supported psychological and neuropsychological assessment methods and clinical research. Civil evaluations: Personal injury (trauma assessments/PTSD & TBI claims), expert testimony regarding trauma (PTSD and adverse childhood experiences), and civil competency (testamentary capacity, contractual capacity, and undue influence). Criminal evaluations (prosecution retained, defense retained, and court appointed): Competency to stand trial, mental health diversion, sanity/criminal responsibility evaluations, violence risk, and assessment addressing issues or claims related to intellectual disability, neurodevelopmental disorders, traumatic brain injury, and malingering/response validity. In addition to clinical and forensic work, I was a Lecturer for San Diego State University Global Campus and Adjunct Faculty for The Chicago School of Professional Psychology, teaching graduate-level courses in forensic assessment, documentation, expert testimony, ethics, and report writing. I have also authored conference presentations on juvenile brain functioning, trauma, first responder mental health and opioid-related impacts, filicide, and have been invited to present select presentations at national and statewide legal and psychological conferences.
