Matthew Sarkar is a highly credentialed expert witness with over 25 years of experience in medical device design, inhaled drug delivery, and intellectual property strategy. He has provided expert analysis in Hatch-Waxman patent litigation, including inhaler technology, breath actuation and dose counter mechanisms. His experience combines engineering, design, IP management, and commercial leadership within both startups and publicly listed medtech companies. Mr Sarkar has extensive hands-on expertise across the full device lifecycle, from concept and clinical development through regulatory, IP, and licensing phases. His educational background includes a Master's degree in Industrial Design Engineering from the prestigious Royal College of Art, a First-Class Honors degree in Mechanical Engineering from Imperial College of Science Technology and Medicine, and a Postgraduate Certificate in Intellectual Property Law from Brunel University. Mr Sarkar was elected Senior Associate of the Royal Society of Medicine in 2018 and is a Trustee of the Cambridge Museum of Technology.
