I am a digital marketing strategist, executive, and expert witness with over 30 years of professional experience in internet-based marketing, online advertising, website technologies, and digital data systems. I began my career in the mid-1990s, prior to the existence of Google, when the discipline was commonly referred to as “Internet Marketing.” Since that time, I have worked continuously in hands-on, executive, and advisory roles involving search engines, paid advertising platforms, websites, analytics systems, social media platforms, eCommerce, affiliate marketing, influencer marketing, and digital monetization models. My professional expertise includes Search Engine Optimization (SEO); Search Engine Marketing (SEM/PPC); Google Ads; paid social advertising; website development; analytics and attribution; email and marketing automation; programmatic and retargeting advertising; reputation management; influencer marketing (including the Amazon Influencer Program); affiliate marketing; branding and messaging; podcasting and online consumer behavior. I have held senior leadership roles including Chief Revenue Officer, Chief Marketing Officer, Director of Performance Marketing, Business Owner/General Manager, and founder of a digital marketing agency that served clients across the United States and internationally. I have managed multi-million-dollar monthly digital advertising budgets and have worked directly with executive teams, boards, attorneys, and technical staff to design, implement, and analyze digital marketing systems. From 2002–2006, I served as a Regional Digital Marketing Manager for Dex Media, then one of the largest Yellow Pages companies in the world, during a period of major digital transformation. From 2007–2010, I held a similar role at LexisNexis/Martindale-Hubbell, where I educated attorneys and sales teams on digital marketing through one-on-one consulting, internal training, and Certified Legal Education programs across multiple U.S. states. I later founded and operated a digital marketing agency (later operating as C1 Partners), providing services to businesses in highly competitive industries including legal, insurance, technology, SaaS, home services, education, and eCommerce. I sold that agency in 2015 and have continued as a consultant and executive advisor. I currently consult globally and also own and operate Kick It 3v3 Soccer, a national sports organization for which I personally design and execute all digital marketing strategies, providing ongoing hands-on experience with modern platforms and tools. As an expert witness, I have been retained in state, federal, and international matters involving digital marketing practices, online advertising systems, influencer and affiliate monetization, intellectual property (copyright, trademark, trade dress, and patent matters), social media conduct, platform algorithms, website data collection, user tracking, and visitor identification technologies. My work has included preparation of expert reports and declarations, consulting expert analysis, functional testing, and deposition-ready opinions. While I am compensated for my expert services, my opinions are independent, objective, and research-driven. I evaluate evidence from all perspectives and base my conclusions on industry standards, platform documentation, empirical testing, and professional experience. I understand and adhere to my duty to assist the court.
