His expertise covers the full spectrum of adult cardiac surgery, adult lung surgery , including coronary artery bypass grafting, aortic and mitral valve repair and replacement, aortic aneurysm and dissection, and perioperative management of high-risk patients as well as expertise in pediatric cardiac surgery Dr. Shuhaiber has authored over 100 peer-reviewed publications and three surgical textbooks and serves as Associate Editor for the Journal of Cardiothoracic Surgery. He has served on multiple quality and peer-review committees, led system-wide safety initiatives, and developed innovative surgical protocols that improved outcomes and reduced infection rates. He holds an M.B.A. with a focus on healthcare leadership and has secured over $2.4 million in federal research funding to advance cardiovascular innovation.
